In this course, students will begin to understand and speak French in guided and structured interactive settings and will develop fundamental skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing through discussing issues and situations that are relevant to their daily lives. Throughout the course, students will develop their awareness of diverse French-speaking communities in Canada and acquire an understanding and appreciation of these communities. They will also develop a variety of skills necessary for lifelong language learning.

In the Grade 8 Mathematics course, students develop an understanding and solving equations and inequalities. Students also explore shapes, angles, and spatial relationships. Furthermore, students analyze and interpreting data to make informed decisions. Lastly, students understand money concepts, manage personal finances, and develop consumer and civic awareness. The course emphasizes the development of essential skills such as algebraic thinking, geometric reasoning, and data analysis, which are crucial for success in Grade 9 mathematics. Students also engage in problem-solving tasks and mathematical communication.

SCI8E
This course enables students to develop a better understanding of a wide variety of scientific concepts. Students will explore the structure and function of cells in plants and animals, including cell theory and specialized cells. Through coursework, students will learn about the particle theory of matter, viscosity, temperature, density, buoyancy, and pressure in fluids, as well as fluid systems and Pascal's Law. Students also learn about forces, work, energy, mechanical advantage, and efficiency in various systems. Earth and Space systems are focused on the importance of water systems, the three states of water, and the impact of changes to the water table and water contamination.

This course is designed to expand your reading, writing, and media literacy skills, while encouraging you to be creative, understand yourself, and learn about the world around you. Throughout this course, you will be exposed to a range of activities - from reading comprehension questions to presentations, videos, art, essays, a Shakespearean play, and finally, an exam. This course will help you prepare for high school English by giving you a head-start on these high school-level tasks.
